We also raise Berkshire crossed pigs which are noted for enhanced flavour due to increased presence of marbling that is achieved by our cross breeding program..  The same as with our cattle operation, we raise our hogs from birth through to finished market ready animal.  Our 30 to 40 sows are housed as peer groups in pens bedded with straw.  The vast majority of the non-GMO grains fed to our pigs is home grown and processed with only the vitamins, minerals and some of their required protein purchased off farm. Our pigs are raised with no antibiotics and no ractopamine hydrochloride administered through their feed or water. 
Our pigs are also fed Selenium and Vitamin E which are beneficial to the health of our herd and more importantly beneficial to the people that consume the pork.  E and Selenium strengthen the immune systems.
